Project Description: Applicant proposes a greater than 25% expansion of a commercial sand and gravel extraction and an after-the-fact permit for the construction of a 4,600 square foot Town Highway Maintenance Garage and a 120 sq. ft. fuel storage building. The mined materials will be used solely by the Town of Duane for the Town’s landfill closure project (7,200 cubic yards on a one time basis) and for winter road sanding operations (3,000 cubic yards annually). During winter months approximately 6 to 8 loaded trucks leave and return to the site daily, depending upon weather conditions.

Project Name: Mike Christian Gravel Pit

Project Description: The proposed project involves a new commercial sand and gravel extraction on a 96-acre parcel of property. The applicant proposes to mine about 5,000 cubic yards of material a year (i.e., 1,500± cubic yards of sand and 3,500 cubic yards of gravel). The operation will involve a front end loader, stationary screening plant and a crusher. The mine will operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The main access route will be along the Brookfield Road. The initial phase of the mine will cover a two-acre area that will be mined over a five year period. The life of mine will cover 14 acres including the initial two-acre area. No blasting is proposed as part of the mining operation.

Negative Declaration

Washington County - The Town of Cambridge, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Brower's Pit Sand and Gravel Mine Site will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves mining and processing sand and gravel from 4 acres of a 42-acre property. The project is located in Cambridge, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Warren County - The Town Board of the Town of Queensbury, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Aviation Mall Renovation and Expansion. The action involves construction and operation of a 125,000 SF GLA single-story building resulting in a 100,000 SF GLA expansion to the existing Aviation Mall, associated parking and other accessory uses, as well as the rezoning of lands located northwest of Aviation Mall between Aviation Mall and the I-87 (Northway) Exit 19, and to amend the Town of Queensbury Zoning Ordinance regarding the enclosed shopping center - 25 acre zone. Upon completion, the overall Aviation Mall will be 661,000 SF GLA. The project is located on Aviation Road, in the Town of Queensbury.
