Project Description: The applicant proposes to open a 4.1 acre unconsolidated sand and gravel mine, part of a 16 acre parcel owned by M. John Hosley, located on the east side of Rt. 30/28, off Heathfield Park Rd., Long Lake, Hamilton Co. The operation will produce approximatedly 1,000 cu yd of material per year, using a front-end loader, backhoe, and dumptruck. The floor of the mine will be maintained at 5' above the groundwater table. Forested buffers and earthen berms will be maintained to act as noise and dust barriers. Reclamation will consist of grading the mine face to 2 on 1 slopes, and seeding to grass/field conditions. |

Project Description: The applicant is proposing to dredge approximately 500 cubic yards of sediment from a 6,800 square foot area near the outlet bay of Glen Lake. The dredging will be accomplished using a machine designed to hydraulically excavate bottom sediment and pump this material to an upland dewatering facility. The work area will be surrounded by a floating silt curtain that will effectively limit the movement of suspended sediment from the work area to the unaffected areas of Glen Lake. After the material has been dewatered it will be removed from the site and used for clean fill. |
