|Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS|
Monroe County - The Town Board of the Town of Greece, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Updating of Town's 1992 Community Master Plan. Written comments will be accepted by the contact person until 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2001. Mindful of the extensive physical, economic, and demographic changes which have occurred in Greece and the surrounding metropolitan area over the last eight years, the Town has concluded that an update of its Community Master Plan has become a necessity. While substantial portions of the Plan remain valid and continue to provide the Town with the types of guidance needed to make effective land use decisions, it has also become increasingly obvious that certain issues have either not been adequately addressed or need to be revisited in light of recent developments. The Town has decided to use the opportunity presented by the update of the Community Master Plan to also update Greece’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan, which was completed in 1990. Due to the passage of time and changing circumstances, the plan is now in need of extensive revision. This revision, the Town believes, is best undertaken as part of the effort to update the Community Master Plan. The project is townwide.
