Niagara County - The Town of Lockport, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Old English Pump Station Rehabilitation will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The proposed action is to rehabilitate the existing Old English sewage pump station with new pumps, controls, power service, and stand-by generator with enclosure. The project is located at 7134 Old English Road, Town of Lockport.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft Generic EIS

Erie County - The Newstead Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Generic EIS on the proposed Town of Newstead and Village of Akron Comprehensive Plan. The action involves the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan by the Town of Newstead and Village of Akron; this action is pursuant to Town Law Sections 72-a and 284, and Village Law sections 7-722 and 7-741. The Comprehensive Plan includes the chapters described: 1) The Plan – Defines a comprehensive plan and discusses what the plan can accomplish, how it may be used and the plan’s preparation. 2) The People – Includes a description of population characteristics such as changes in population, trends, age, ethnicity, etc. and an inventory of housing including housing cost and affordability, recent housing trends, housing costs and housing programs. 3) The Land – Includes a description of existing and future land uses, environmental resources and agricultural resources in the two communities. 4) The Community – Includes a description of schools, libraries, emergency services, health and social services, municipal services and historic/cultural resources, recreational facilities and programs, infrastructure resources and transportation resources. 5) The Economy – Includes a description of the local economic base, businesses and regional economic trends. 6) Implementation – Includes a detailed implementation matrix for the Town and Village to pursue. 7) Public Input – Includes a description of the public input process including the survey, interviews, focus group sessions and public meetings. 8) Appendices – Includes additional information on contacts, sources of information, the survey, etc.

The purpose of the Comprehensive Plan is to provide a guide for the future development of the Town of Newstead and Village of Akron. The two communities have recognized that working together will better enable them to reach common goals and address issues that cross municipal boundaries.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Erie County - The Town of Orchard Park, as lead agency, has accepted a Final EIS on the proposed Tops/K-Mart Plaza Expansion. The project involves the construction of a 57,000 sq. ft. Tops supermarket and adjoining retail space (92,000 sq. ft.) as well as a separate 7,600 sq. ft. restaurant. The project is located at the southeast corner of Southwestern Boulevard and Orchard Park Road, Town of Orchard Park.
