Project Description: The applicant proposes the mining of gravel and material processing with a portable dry-screen and portable crusher, each with a maximum capacity that is less than 150 tons per hour, on 13.7 acres of land out of 43.3 acres owned by the applicant at the proposed mine location. The mine haul road would access Hiram Road. The estimated life of the mine is 14 years and the reclamation objective is agriculture. The site of the proposed mine, to be known as the "Bray Road Gravel Pit" is along the west side of Hiram Road, about 210 feet north of Bray Road. |

Project Description: The proposal is to construct an irrigation pond within the regulated 100 foot wide adjacent area of State Freshwater Wetland CT-4 (Class II). The pond will be V-Shaped with each leg approximately 100 feet wide and 400 feet long. About 21, 850 cubic yards of soil is to be excavated and spread on upland areas away from the wetland. The pond will be spring fed and excess runoff will drain to the adjacent wetland. The project is located on the applicant's farm, southwest of the U.S. Route 20A, Burns Road Intersection. |
