Public Hearing on Draft EIS

Westchester County - A Public Hearing on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement in connection with the proposed Liberty Plaza Senior Campus Project will be held on May 21, 2001 at 7:00 P.M in the Mayor's Conference Room, City Hall, 1 Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon, New York. Said hearing shall be open to the public and any person present shall have the opportunity to be heard. In addition, written comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement are requested and will be accepted by the Mount Vernon Industrial Dcvelopment Agency, City Hall, 1 Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon, New York, 10550, until June 8, 2001.

The proposed Liberty Plaza Senior Campus Project involves a plan to utilize the air rights above the Mount Vernon Hospital parking garage to develop a 120 unit senior independent living facility with a capacity of approximately 140 residents. In addition to the independent living facility units, approximately 22,152 square feet of medical office space is also proposed. The facility would be linked to the Mount Vernon Hospital through the construction of a foot bridge at the fifth floor level.

Negative Declaration

Dutchess County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed land acquisition and construction of a New Elementary School for the Poughkeepsie City School District, SED Project No. 13-15-00-01-0-018-001, will not have a significant environmental impact. The action involves the purchase of 6 acres of land and 82,000 square feet of new construction. The project is located on Lincoln Avenue in the City of Poughkeepsie.

Westchester County - The City Council of the City of New Rochelle, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed New Rochelle Intermodal Transportation Center Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a 920-space, multi-level garage and other vehicular circulation improvements to be constructed on the site of the existing at-grade parking lot along the southbound Metro-North railroad tracks at the Train Station. The project is located in the City of New Rochelle.

Westchester County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed construction of a New Primary School for the Mount Pleasant Central School District, SED Project No. 66-08-01-06-0-007-001, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves 83,000 square feet of new construction on existing property. The project is located on Memorial Drive in the Town of Mount Pleasant.

Westchester County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed additions/alterations to the Hawthorne Elementary School for the Mount Pleasant Central School District, SED Project No. 66-08-01-06-0-002-008, will not have a significant environmental impact. The action involves 42,750 square feet of new additions on existing property. The project is located at 225 Memorial Drive in the Town of Mount Pleasant.

Westchester County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed additions/alterations to the Columbus Elementary School for the Mount Pleasant Central School District, SED Project No. 66-08-01-06-0-004-005, will not have a significant environmental impact. The action involves 31,000 square feet of new additions on existing property. The project is located at 500 Columbia Drive in the Town of Mount Pleasant.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Orange County - The Planning Board of the Town of Wallkill, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Chip Fab 98. The action involves the generic pre-approval of a high tech computer chip manufacturing facility on a 166-acre site. The plan identifies two 250,000 sq. ft. fabrication buildings, a 55,000 sq. ft. warehouse, a two-story 120,000 sq. ft office building, a 100,000 sq.ft. energy center/utility building, a 105,000 sq.ft. building center, 90,000 sq. ft. construction support office, construction staging areas, 2500 +/- parking spaces, and various support facilities. Comments are requested on the draft EIS and will be accepted by the contact person until June 20, 2001. Copies of the document are available for public review at the Wallkill Town Hall, the Middletown Throll Library, and NYSDEC Region 3 Headquarters. The project is located at the intersection of Goshen Turnpike and Crystal Run Road, Town of Wallkill, Orange County, NY.
