Project Description: The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this SPDES permit application for the surface discharge of up to 1,200 gallons per day (GPD) of treated sanitary wastewater from a commercial building into a tributary of Roaring Brook (DEC Water Index No. H-55-18-2; Class D). The project involves the reconstruction of a 2,800 square foot commercial building on the west side of Pudding Street, about 800 feet north of the Taconic State Parkway. In addition, portions of the existing septic system will be reconstructed. About 75 linear feet of the proposed discharge pipe will be located within State Freshwater Wetland No. OL-48 (Class II). The remainder of the re-construction (about 0.5 acre) will occur in the 100-foot adjacent area of the same wetland. The permittee will be required to maintain records and report data to verify compliance with the SPDES permit conditions and discharge limits. A draft SPDES permit is available for review at the DEC Region 3 office. |
