Negative Declaration

Cayuga County - The Town of Aurelius, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Rezoning of land to PDD, Cayuga Recreational Facility will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the rezoning of land at the intersection of State Routes 90 and 5 from Agricultural/Residential to Planned Development. The new zoning designation will effect 192 acres and allow the property owner to seek permits at a future date to establish a golf course and related activities. The project is located at the intersection of Route 90 and 5, Town of Aurelius.

Onondaga County - The Onondaga County Health Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Use of Vectolex CG (bacillus sphaericus) as a larviciding agent in Onondaga County will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves application of Vectolex CG to known mosquito breeding sites such as woodland pools, ditches, catch basins, culverts and other water sources. Open flowing water and wildlife management areas are not treated. These applications will occur from April thru September annually. All pesticide applications are done according to label directions and under the supervision of a certified pesticide applicator. The project is located in all mosquito breeding sites within Onondaga County.

Broome County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed acquisition of land and construction of a New High School, for the Whitney Point Central School District, SED Project No. 03-14-01-06-0-010-001, may have a significant adverse environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the purchase of 210 acres of land and 150,000 square feet of new construction. The project is located on NYS Route 79, Whitney Point, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft Supplemental EIS

Oswego County - The New York State Public Service Commission, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Supplemental EIS on the proposed Case 01-E-0011 Joint Petition of Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation and New York State Electric & Gas Corporation and Rochester Gas & Electric Corporation and Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation and Constellation Nuclear LLC and Nine Mile Nuclear Station, LLC, for Authority under the Public Service Law Section 70 to Transfer Certain Generating Related Assets and for Related Approvals. Niagara Mohawk, New York State Electric & Gas, Rochester Gas & Electric and Central Hudson Gas & Electric have entered into an agreement to sell their interest in the Nine Mile Point 1 and 2 Nuclear Power Plants to Constellation Nuclear LLC. Under the provisions of Section 70 of the Public Service Law, this transfer cannot go forward without the approval of the NYS Public Service Commission (PSC). The proposed action is a subsequent action to regulatory policies concerning competition in the electric industry which were adopted by the PSC in Case 94-E-0952. Thus the draft EIS in the current case is supplemental to a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement (FGEIS) issued in Case 94-E-0952. The project is located in the Town of Scriba.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Onondaga County - The Town of Salina Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft EIS on the proposed Summerwood Development Corp. A public hearing will be held on May 29, 2001 at 6:30 p.m. at Salina Toiwn Hall, 201 School Road, Liverpool, NY. The public comment period ends 10 days after close of hearing. The action involves a request for a zone change on approximately 29 acres of vacant land from R-0 (Open Residential District) to 0-1 (Office District) and a zone change of approximately 4 acres adjacent from R-0 to C-2 (Highway Commercial District) to permit a proposed 140,000 sq. ft. office project and a 25,000 sq. ft. retail facility. The project is located in the southwest corner of Hopkins Road and Buckley Road in the Town of Salina.
