The applicant proposes to restore wetland hydrology to a 25 acre parcel located approximately one mile north of Glenfield and east of Blue Street in cooperation with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. A ditch plug, low embankment with water level control structure, shallow water waterfowl potholes and nesting and loafing islands will be constructed. The site is located in regulated freshwater wetland G-3, a 69 acre Class II shrub and wet meadow wetland seasonally flooded by the Black River.

Hanson Aggregates of New York, Inc. has applied to construct a rail load out ramp adjacent to lands owned by Mohawk Adirondack and Northern Railroad Corporation. This will allow the applicant to load rail cars directly via front end loaders. The material will be shipped to the New York Metropolitan area. Hanson estimates they have one million cubic yards of material available on site with their current life of mine permit. The Rail Road has waived their 25 foot set back requirement.

The plant is immediately south of the village of Bonneville limits and adjacent to the Black River Canal. The mine is south west of Route 12 and north east of route 46.

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation has sent a letter stating they have no concerns with the ramp since it will be located in an area of substantial prior disturbance.
