Application No.:2001-42

Project Name: St. Lawrence County Highway Department

Location: Jayville Road in the town of Pitcairn, St. Lawrence County

Comments Due: May 10, 2001

Project Description: Applicant proposes to replace the existing 27' span Jayville Road bridge over Jenny Creek with a 30' span bridge on the same alignment. During construction, a temporary bridge and roadway detour will be installed. The proposed bridge will have new footings, and the temporary bridge and road will be removed and the area restored by regrading and seeding. The project involves jurisdictional wetlands. In order to accommodate the construction of the detour, the applicant will need to clear a swath of vegetation approximately 20 feet wide. This clearing constitutes less than 30 percent of the shoreline on the parcel upon which the detour will be constructed. Waste materials will be disposed of outside of the Adirondack Park.
