The Town of Babylon Commissioner of General Services will receive sealed bids for Bid No. 01G39, for the Vertical and Lateral Expansion of the Town of Babylon, New York, Northern U Ashfill ("Project"), until 10:00 a.m. on May 17, 2001, at the Town Hall, 200 East Sunrise Highway, Lindenhurst, New York 11757. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the above time and date. Bids are to be hand delivered or mailed to the address specified above and in Article 3 of Section III of the Contract Documents. Telegraphic or other electronically transferred bids will not be accepted.

This Project consists of: 1) approximately 1350 lineal feet of reinforced soil wall and associated features on the northern and eastern sides of the Northern U Ashfill; 2) an approximate nine-acre, double composite liner system and leachate collection and removal system over the existing Northern U Ashfill and northern slopes of the Town of Babylon Landfill; 3) an approximately one mile long leachate transmission pipeline and associated features to connect the new Ashfill with existing leachate transfer point on Gleam Street; and 4) approximately 200 feet of road widening and associated reinforced soil wall northwest of the Northern U Ashfill.

The Project is located in the Hamlet of West Babylon, Town of Babylon, in southwestern Suffook County, Long Island, New York. The Project Site is bordered by Edison Avenue, Gleam Street, Jersey Street, and Patton Avenue. Copies of the Contract Documents may be examined and obtained on or after April 19, 2001, at the Town Hall, Department of General Services, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily, except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

A non-refundable fee of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150) in cash or check payable to the "Town of Babylon" will be required to obtain a set of Contract Documents. The Town of Babylon will not be responsible for timely delivery of any mailing and will not be responsible for full or partial sets of Contract Documents, including any addenda, obtained from any other source. Only Bidders purchasing Contract Documents from the Town of Babylon may submit Bids.

Each Bid must be accompanied by Bid bond, certified check or bank check payable to the "Town of Babylon" in an amount no less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount.

All bidders are required to attend a pre-bid conference to discuss special requirements for the contract. The Pre-Bid Conference will be held on May 3, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. at the Town Board Room, Babylon Town Hall, 200 East Sunrise Highway, Lindenhurst, NY 11757, to be followed by a Mandatory site inspection. ATTENDANCE AT THE PRE-BID CONFERENCE AND THE SITE INSPECTION IS MANDATORY; BIDS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FROM BIDDERS WHO HAVE NOT ATTENDED THE PRE-BID CONFERENCE AND THE MANDATORY SITE INSPECTION.

Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Village of Huntington Bay, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Murphy Land Division will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves an existing 175,618 sq.ft., 4.03 acre lot containing a single-family home, and inground pool that will be subdivided into (2) residential building lots. Lot 1 will have an area of 61,519.16 sq.ft., 1.41 acres. Lot 2 will have an area of 114,099.21 sq.ft., 2.62 acres and will contain the existing house. A new attached garage and driveway will be installed on Lot 2 to service the existing home. Stormwater drainage facilities are proposed for the existing and proposed homes. A stormwater drainage facility will also be installed to accommodate drainage from East Shore Road, which provides frontage for the subdivision. The action also includes the creation of a conservation easement along the southern property boundary south of East Shore Road adjacent to Huntington Harbor. The applicant has also agreed to a covenant stating that no further subdivision of the lots will occur. The project is located at 158 East Shore Road, Huntington Bay, New York 11743.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS and Notice of Public Hearing

Suffolk County - The Town of Southampton, as lead agency, has accepted a final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Code Amendments concerning preservation of Agricultural Parcels. A Public Hearing will be held on April 24, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. at Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton road, Southampton, New York 11968.
