Notice of PSD Applicability

Saratoga County - South Glens Falls Energy, LLC is replacing the steam turbine which was destroyed in a sudden failure of critical components in July 2000. The company has existing limits on Carbon Monoxide (CO), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), Particulate Matter less than 10 Microns (PM-10) and Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx). The company also has steam injection for the control of NOx on the gas turbine. This replacement will have no impact on the original BACT analysis nor on the increment consumption analysis. Comments will be accepted for 30 days from the date of this notice.

Negative Declaration

Fulton County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed acquisition of land and addition/alterations to the Main School Building for the Oppenheim Ephratah Central School District, SED Project No.17-10-01-04-0-001-005, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the purchase of 4.5 acres of land and 3,883 square feet of new additions. The project is located on State Highway 29 in the Town of St. Johnsville.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Warren County - The Lake George Park Commission, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Lake George Sonar Demonstration Project. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on April 24, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holiday Inn, Route 9, Lake George, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until May 5, 2001. The action involves the treatment of approximately 36 acres of Lake George (total lake surface approximately 28,000 acres) with Sonar (fluridone), an aquatic herbicide, for Eurasian Watermilfoil control. The project is located at Sawmill Bay, Paradise Bay, West Tongue Mountain, Northwest Bay and Moonlight Bay, Harbor Lands, Town of Bolton.
