Project Description:

T he applicant proposes to relocate a service lane, perimeter fire lane, electrical distribution line and security fencing along the east side of their facility on CR16, approximately 2 miles south of the Village of Rennselaer Falls. The project will affect approximately 15,000 square feet of buffer area for Regulated Freshwater Wetland RF-7, a 4976 acre Class I wetland. The project is to facilitate a proposed facility expansion.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination: Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.
SEQR Lead Agency: NONE DESIGNATED
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination: The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.
Coastal Management: This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment: Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Apr 27 2001.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to renew and modify an existing sand and gravel mining permit for a site located one mile east of Parishville Center approximately 3000' south of NYS Route 72, and 1400' west of Chapel Hill Road. 7.2 acres would be added to an 8.3 acre life of mine on a 200 acre site owned by Conrad and Marie Cook, 1105 NYS Route 72, Potsdam, New York 13676. The permit would be renewed for a five (5) year period.
