Project Description: The Pittsford Central School District has applied for a NYS DEC Article 15 Water Quality Certification for the proposed development of a a new high school complex located on Caulkins Road . This Water Quality Certification is required pursuant to Section 401 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, in order for the applicant to obtain a Section 404 US Army Corps of Engineers individual permit to discharge dredged and fill materials into federally regulated waters. As part of the facility construction, the applicant has proposed to fill and culvert 0.07 acres of an existing tributary and federal wetland, fill and culvert 0.16 acres of another existing tributary and federal wetland, and fill and pipe approximately 1150 lineal feet of a third tributary. For the purposes of obtaining a Water Quality Certification, the applicant must demonstrate compliance with the NYS DEC GP-93-06, SPDES General Permit For Storm Water Discharges From Construction Activities by submitting a complete and appropriate Storm Water Management and Erosion Control Plan. The discharge authorized by this general permit shall neither cause nor contribute to a violation of water quality standards as contained in 6NYCRR Parts 700 through 705. In addition, pursuant to the SPDES General Permit, the storm water pollution prevention plan (SPPP) must include procedures and requirements specified in duly adopted regulations approved by the Town of Pittsford, and shall provide a certification in their SPPP that their SPPP complies with all requirements applicable to protecting surface and ground water resources in the duly adopted regulations approved by the Town of Pittsford. Based on information provided in the survey report, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) has determined that the proposed activity will have an impact on registered or eligible archaeological sites or historic structures. The department must consult further with OPRHP before making a final decision regarding the issuance of the permit. | |

Project Description: The applicant proposes to construct a six-foot wide pedestrian sidewalk along the north side of Routes 5&20, from Main Street (Rte 332) to the Roseland Water Park entrance. The sidewalk will be constructed within the NYS DOT right-of-way, with ~900 lineal feet residing within the adjacent area of FWW CG-22 (Class II) and several sections within the boundaries of that FWW proper. The feeder canal (Class C) will be crossed by means of an aluminum bridge with an artificial wood decking.
