Project Description: The Department has drafted an initial permit pursuant to Article 19 (Air Pollution Control) of the Environmental Conservation Law and Title V of the Federal Clean Air Act Amendments for the existing facility located at the Corning Incorporated Canton Plan in Canton, New York. The facility is a manufacturer of high purity glass. Glass is manufactured in furnaces on a batch basis and is then subjected to annealing, cutting, grinding, acid etching and measuring processes. The emissions associated with the above referenced processes are: PM-10, particulates, sulfur dioxide, oxides of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, VOC's (collective), HAP's (collective), xylenes (isomers and mixture), 1,2-ethandiol, glycol ethers and methyisobutyketone.
