Suffolk County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Island Water Park - Recreational Water Ski Club Ponds may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the excavation of sand and gravel from approximately 30 acres of land to a depth of 10 feet in order to construct two water ski ponds. The ponds are proposed to be lined with an impervious soil mix (bentonite). The project is located on Route 25, former Grumman Property, Calverton, Town of Riverhead.

Positive Declaration with Public Scoping

Suffolk County - The Town Board of the Town of Brookhaven, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town of Brookhaven Cell 6 Landfill Expansion may have a significant adverse impact on the environmental and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. A public scoping session will be held on March 27, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Building 8 Conference Room, Town Hall Complex, 3233 Route 112, Medford, New York 11763. The action involves the expansion of the Town of Brookhaven's Horseblock Road Landfill by constructing an additional fill area at this site. The project is located on Horseblock Road in the Town of Brookhaven.
