Monroe County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Fairport Central School District, Control Number: 26-13-01-06-1-023-001, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a new administration office building. The project is located at 10 Baumer Place, Fairport, New York.

Yates County - Yates County, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Yates County Communications Upgrade will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the upgrade and modernization of the existing radio communications system to provide radio coverage county-wide for public safety and public works operations. The project is located county-wide.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Steuben County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Scudder Sand and Gravel Pit, Dalrymple Gravel and Contracting Company, Inc., DEC 8-4642-00101/00001, MLR 8093-30-0769. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on March 27, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 304 South Hamilton Street, Painted Post, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until April 6, 2001. The action involves the development of a 112-acre sand and gravel mine on a 313-acre parcel. The mine will operate as a traditional surface excavation of sand and gravel by mechanical equipment. Mining will occur below the water table utilizing a dragline and the excavated material will be washed, screened and crushed. Final reclamation will restore the site to an open water recreational pond. The project is located on Smith Hill Road in the Town of Erwin, Steuben County, and is bounded on the north by Smith Hill Road, the east by the Cohocton River, and the south and west by a very steep wooded hillside.
