New Notices for ENB Issue of February 28, 2001: 3

Astoria Energy, LLC a/k/a SCS Astoria proposes to construct and operate a combined-cycle electric generating facility that will produce 1,000 megawatts (MW) located at 17-10 Steinway Street, Astoria, Queens.

Joint NYSDEC and NYSDPS public hearing sessions to receive unsworn statements from the public will be held on April 18 & 19, 2001 at 7:00PM. A joint NYSDEC and NYSDPS pre-hearing issues conference is proposed and a separate pre-hearing notice will be issued by NYSDPS regarding this conference. Filings for party status must be received by April 16, 2001.

Astoria Energy, LLC a/k/a SCS Astoria has applied for Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) pre-construction conditions from the NYSDEC pursuant to 40 Code of Federal Regulations 52.21, and for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need under Article X of the NYS Public Service Law from the NYS Board on Electric Generation Siting and The Environment so that it may construct and operate a combined cycle electric generating facility that will produce 1,000 megawatts (MW) located at 17-10 Steinway Street, Astoria, Queens.

Pennsylvania General Energy Corp (PGE) is conducting an exploration and drilling program and is developing producing wells for natural gas on the Wilson Hollow Field, located mostly in the Town of Hornby, Steuben County and in part in Chemung County, Town of Catlin, New York.

A legislative hearing will be held on April 10, 2001 at 7:00PM. A pre-adjudicatory hearing issues conference will be held on April 11, 2001 at 9:00AM. Filings for party status must be received no later that the close of business on April 2, 2001.
