Project Description: Due to incorrect information, the following is a re-issuance of a previously published Complete Notice: The Department has made a tentative determination to modify an existing State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit for the facility known as BAE SYSTEMS Aerospace Inc., Advanced Systems, formerly known as Marconi Aerospace Systems Inc. and Hazeltine Corp. (DEC No. 1-4726-00091/00001). This permit covers multiple outfalls, including sanitary wastewater, stormwater runoff and non-contact cooling water discharging to groundwater via individual leaching pools and recharge basins. The modification removes the former Industrial Process discharges which no longer exist and reclassifies the facility to Discharge Class 04; adds one outfall that had never been identified; deletes several non-existent or closed outfalls and increases the non-contact cooling water flow at outfalls 009/010 to 180000 Gallons Per Day. The site is located in Greenlawn, 1 Hazeltine Way, Town of Huntington. |
