Suffolk County - The Village of Islandia Board of Trustees, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Phase III
Expansion of Computer Associates World Headquarters/Operations Complex will not have a significant adverse
environmental impact. The subject development consists of 1.475 million square feet of total floor area on a 77.7-acre site
owned by the applicant. The original Negative Declaration appeared in the December 20, 2000 issue of the ENB The amendment is for item 3 of the original Negative Declaration and the change is as follows:
Motor Parkway at Old Nichols Road - The applicant has agreed to widen the northbound approach along Old Nichols Road by 12 feet, increasing the number of travel lanes from two to three. This will require the procurement of a 0.25-acre area of Suffolk County parkland at the southeast corner of the intersection. The village understands that this acquisition already has been completed. The existing two travel lanes on the southbound approach along Old Nichols Road will be retained. However, in order to eliminate southbound left turns from Old Nichols Road to Motor Parkway, the applicant will: re-stripe the pavement to create a single right-turn lane and a single through lane; install suitable "No Left Turn" signage on the southbound approach to the Moror Parkway at Old Nichols Road intersection; and install suitable signage at the Old Nichols Road at Terry Road intersection to direct all southbound traffic destined for Motor Parkway eastbound to turn left from Old Nichols Road onto Terry Road, and then turn left again from Terry Road onto Motor Parkway.
