Project Description: The Department has drafted a permit pursuant to Article 19 ( Air Pollution Control ) of the Environmental Conservation Law and Title V of the Clean Air Act Amendments, and made a tentative decision to approve this permit for the above mentioned facility. Facility manufactures printed circuit boards used in computers, automobiles, phones, and a variety of other items. Air emissions from this facility are controlled in accordance with multiple State and Federal regulations. Facility uses several air pollution control technologies. These include acid, caustic, and wet scrubbers, thermal oxidation, carbon filtration, and dust collection. In accordance with 6 NYCRR Parts 621.6(d)(9) and 201-6.4(c), the Administrator of the US EPA has the authority to bar issuance of this permit if it is to be determined not to be in compliance with applicable requirements of the Clean Air Act or 6NYCRR Part 201. The application, draft permit, relevant supporting materials and regulations are available for review during normal business hours at the DEC Region 1 Office, Building 40 SUNY, Stony Brook, NY. Comments of support or objection may be made by filling a written statement by the deadline indicated. DEC may schedule a public hearing based upon an evaluation of the nature and scope of any written objections raised. Hearing notices will contain instructions on filing for party status and submitting documents. In accordance with 6NYCRR Parts 621.5(d)(9) and 201-6.4(c), the Administrator of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) has the authority to bar issuance of any Title 5 Facility Permit if it is determined not to be in compliance with applicable requirements of the Clean Air Act or 6NYCRR Part 201. |

Project Description: The Department has made a tentative determination to modify an existing State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit for the facility known as BAE Systems Aerospace Inc., Advanced Systems, formerly known as Hazeltine Corp. and Marconi Aerospace Systems Inc. (DEC No. 1-4726-00091/00001). This permit covers multiple outfalls discharging to groundwater. These discharges include a variable amount of sanitary wastewater, stormwater runoff and non-contact cooling water from four additional outfalls to an unnamed pond, and stormwater and non-contact cooling water from seven outfalls to groundwater. The modification involves the elimination of sampling and monitoring requirements for several organic compounds which are no longer produced due to the cessation of most industrial activity at the facility. The site is located in Calverton, Town of Riverhead. |
