Notice of Extension of Public EIS Scoping

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency for the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) review of the Empire State Newsprint Project, has decided with the concurrence of the applicant to extend the public EIS scoping period for this project until mid / late April 2001 in order to coincide with the public comment time frames for the review of this project under Article X of the Public Service law. When a final closing date for comments is decided, another announcement will be issued. The original notice was published in the January 31, 2001, ENB, www.dec.state.ny.us/website/enb2001/20010131/not4.html, and includes a detailed project description as well as information on document availability. The DEC Project Number is 4-3814-00052, and the DPS Case Number is 00-F-2057. Negative Declaration

Schenectady County - The Town of Niskayuna Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Hummingbird Manor will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the development of 40.8 acres of land into 68 townhouse units on 34 building lots. The applicant is providing 15.87 acres of openspace as part of the average density development and 4.08 acres of parkland for the subdivision. The project is located at 3353 Consaul Road, Town of Niskayuna, Schenectady County.

Positive Declaration and Public Scoping Session

Rensselaer County - The Pittstown Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Quaker Ridge Subdivision may have a significant adverse environmental impact and a draft EIS must be prepared. A Public Scoping Session will be held on March 1, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. at Pittstown Town Hall. The action involves the subdivision of a 54.15 acre parcel into 9 building lots. The project is located on Quaker Road, City of Johnsonville.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Montgomery County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft EIS on the proposed land acquisition and construction of a New Education Building for the Hamilton Fulton Montgomery BOCES, SED Project No. 20-90-00-00-0-015-001. Comments are requested on the Draft EIS and will be accepted by the contact person until February 28, 2001. The action involves the purchase of 16 acres of land and 155,000 square feet of new construction. The project is located on New York State Route 67 in the Towns of Johnstown and Glen.
