Negative Declaration

Westchester County - The Chappaqua Central School District, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed modification of design for the septic system to serve the new Seven Bridges Middle School will not have a significant adverse environmental impact and does not require the preparation of a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement. The project is located at Seven Bridges site, off Route 133 immediately west of Seven Bridges Road, Chappaqua, New York.

Westchester County - The Westchester County Board of Acquisition and Contract, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed paving project at Saxon Woods Golf Course will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the paving of approximately 3,900 linear feet of eight foot wide golf cart path at holes 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 13 and 14. Three and one-half inches of asphalt will be overlaid on six inches of clean gravel or compacted item #4.

Amended Negative Declaration

Westchester County - The Westchester County Board of Acquisition and Contract and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, as lead agency, have determined that the proposed Memorial Garden, AIDS Memorial Garden and Greenhouse at Lasdon Park will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of two memorial gardens and a greenhouse. The project is located at Lasdon Park and Arboretum, Route 35, Town of Somers, New York.

Public Scoping

The Town Board of the Town of Greenburgh will hold a Public Scoping Session at the Greenburgh Town Hall, located at 320 Tarrytown Road at the intersection of Tarrytown Road (Route 119) and Knollwood Road (Route 100A), Elmsford, New York, on Tuesday, February 13, 2001, at 7:15pm.

The DEIS is the Gel-Sprain Planned Unit Development; the approximately 41.9-acre subject Gel-Sprain property is located on the southern side of Ardsley Road, between Sprain Road and the Sprain Brook Parkway. The applicant has proposed a PUD, which would involve rezoning the parcel from the R-20 zoning district (single-family residential). The PUD would provide for 68 units, consisting of three bedroom town homes. The PUD site plan would include 3,200 linear feet of roadway, 29.6 acres of open space, 12.2 acres of site disturbance, 3.7 acres of impervious surfaces.


Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Dutchess County - The Planning Board of the Town of Pleasant Valley, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Ennis Mobile Home Parc. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on February 13, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall of the Town of Pleasant Valley, 1554 Main Street, Pleasant Valley, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until February 26, 2001. The action involves the expansion of the existing Ennis Mobile Home Parc, by the addition of 114 double-wide mobile home units on approximately thirty (30) acres, which is close to 36 percent of the parcel's approximately eighty-four (84) total acres (84.83 acres). The project is located in the southwest section of the Town of Pleasant Valley.

Westchester County - The Planning Board of the Village of Scarsdale, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Scarsdale (Saxon Wood Road) Assisted Living Facility. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on March 21, 2001 at 8:00 p.m. at Rutherford Hall in Scarsdale Village Hall, 1001 Post Road, Scarsdale, New York. The action involves the proposed construction of a 115-unit assisted living facility for the frail elderly. The majority of the site (5.83 acres) is located in the Village of Scarsdale, with the remaining 1.14 acres located within the City of White Plains. The site is currently occupied by wetlands areas on the eastern portion of the property and steep slopes on the western portion. The bulk of the development would be located in the central portion of the property. The project is located within the Village of Scarsdale, except for access which would be from Saxon Wood Road in the City of White Plains.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS and Public Hearing

Westchester County - The Board of Trustees of the Village of Sleepy Hollow, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Kendal on Hudson Continuing Care Retirement Community. A public hearing on the Final EIS will be held on February 27, 2001 at 8:00 p.m. at the Philipsburg Manor Restoration, Sleepy Hollow, New York. The action involves a rezoning, site plan and wetlands permit approval for the development of a continuing care retirement community, which will involve development of 450,000 square feet of building to consist of 225 independent living apartments, 40 assisted living units and 42 private skilled nursing rooms. The project is located at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, 701 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, New York.
