Project Description: The Department has drafted a permit pursuant to Article 19 (Air Pollution Control) of the NYS Environmental Conservation Law (ECL), and made a tentative determination to approve this application for modification of the State Facility Permit for the applicant's existing stationary combustion units (boilers) located at Rt. 25A Kings Park, Town of Smithtown, Suffolk County. This modification is being proposed by the applicant for the purpose of establishing certified emission reduction credits for past reductions as a result of the permanent shutdown of emission sources at this facility. The applicant will be establishing emission reduction credits of 78.8 tons per year of NOx in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 231 "New Source Review in Nonattainment Areas" with this application. Future start-up at this source will be subject will be subject to current Federal and State requirements, pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 231. The application, draft permit, and relevant supporting materials and regulations are available for review during normal business hours at the Region One NYSDEC office. |
