Project description: The applicant intends to lease land and proposes to operate a paintball course as a new seasonal commercial use on lands involving wetlands. The property is located in a land use area classified as Rural Use and Resource Management with access from Route 30. The commercial use will be operated from May 1 to October 30, Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is anticipated there will be an average of 6 cars parked at the project site during the week and 12 on Saturdays. There will be an average of 6 to 8 customers weekdays and 12 to 14 on Saturdays. A porta-john will be used on site. One sign will be installed to advertise the commercial use and no permanent buildings or other structures are proposed.


Negative Declaration

Franklin County - The Adirondack Park Agency, as lead agency has determined that the proposed Pattison/Union Falls LLC will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves demolition of an existing 480 square foot hunting and fishing cabin located 20 feet from the shoreline of the Saranac River and replace it with a 396 square foot hunting and fishing cabin greater than 150 feet from the shoreline. Applicants will carry in water and use a closed biodegradable septic system. Comment period ends February 15, 2001. The project is located on the eastern shoreline of the Saranac River near CR 48 in the Town of Franklin.
