The permit allows the surface discharge of 5,000 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste water from the church to a tributary of Beeman Creek, (Classification C and Standard C). Project Description:

The applicant proposes a 31 acre expansion of the currently permited 29.5 acre "King/Ahles Gravel Pit". The applicant has also requested variance from the regulatory set-back requirements along the north property line where the adjacent landowner's and mine operator's concurrence has been obtained, and as an alternative to the minimum required set-back along the south property line, conditioned on obtaining the adjacent property owner's and mine operator's agreement. The reclamation objective for the expansion area is agriculture which is the same as the current mine. No changes in mine operating procedures and reclamation procedures are proposed. The mine site is on the west side of Sharp Street, approximately 0.6 mile north from Middle Road and the expansion area is west and southwest of the west boundary of the existing mine.

The applicant proposes a 7.5 acre addition to the existing "Pavement East Gravel Pit" currently permitted for 22 acres. Continuing the excavation below the ground water table is proposed, which will increase the lake from the currently approved 16 acres to approximately 23 acres. The Pavement East mine is located east of Pavement Road, opposite 324 Pavement Road, about 2,000 feet south from Walden Avenue. The expansion area is contiguous with the existing east mine boundary.
