Project Title: SUNY ESF Wanakena Ranger School Expansion

Project Description: Greater-than-25% expansion of public/semi-public building: Applicant proposes an 11,000± square foot addition to the west end of the existing Main Building #1. The addition will be 45 feet in height and set back approximately 110 feet from the Oswegatchie River. The addition will include facilities for a 100-seat, high-tech classroom for the college and nearby community’s education, meeting and recreation events and complete kitchen and dining areas. Other construction will bring the existing facilities into compliance with the state building code, including asbestos and lead paint removal, replacement of windows, repair of the stucco finish and construction of a sloped roof over a flat roof area. The facilities are to serve the projected student enrollment of 65 and a faculty of 23. The building is served by existing on-site water and wastewater treatment systems.

Negative Declaration

Oneida County - The Town of Marcy, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Sanitary Sewer Contract 24 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves construction of approximately 22,000 l.f. of gravity sewers, 11,000 l.f. of force mains, and four to six central pump stations along portions of Fox, Toby, and Coombs Roads in the Town of Marcy. The project is located at Fox, Luke, Toby and Coombs Roads in the Town of Marcy.

Positive Declaration and Notice of Acceptance of a Draft EIS

Oneida County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed addition and alterations to the Rossetti Occupational Education Center at the Madison - Oneida BOCES, SED Project No. 25-90-00-00-0-002-011, may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement has been prepared. Comments are requested on the Draft EIS and will be accepted by the contact person until January 2, 2001. The action involves 85,000 square feet of new additions on existing property. The project is located at 4937 Spring Road in the Town of Verona.
