Project Description:

Applicant proposes to construct a 12' by 12' raised wooden decked trail head kiosk, attached to a 60' to 80' long by 2' wide raised wooden board walk, leading to a 18' by 18' by 28' 9" high observation tower. Project is located within FWW # HS-101 and its adjacent area, approximately 3/4 mile south of Grandview Ave. and 120 feet west of Old Farm Road.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination: Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.
SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination: A Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form has been completed. The proposed activity will not impact on registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.
Coastal Management: This project is located in a Coastal Management area and is subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to place fill in an area approximately 60' long x 100' wide, a portion of which is within the adjacent area of Freshwater Wetland M-10 and to top-dress (soil, seed & mulch) a previously filled area approximately 120' long x 20' wide in the adjacent area of the wetland. Work area is on the wetland side of applicants residence and is proposed to help control erosion. Project is located off State Route 145 just north of Thorington Road at Vlaie Pond.
