Notice of Application for Permit Renewal

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Region 2 Headquarters, 47-40 21st Street, Long Island City, NY 11101 has received an application to renew a current Solid Waste Management (6 NYCRR Part 360) permit for the following facility. The Department expects to make a decision on this application in approximately thirty days. Contact person: Jeffrey Rabkin

DEC No. 2-6007-00007/00001 Metropolitan Transfer Station, Inc., 287 Halleck St., Bronx County Handling Capacity: 1,649 cubic yards a day of putrescible solid waste and treated and destroyed medical waste. Proposed Action: Renewal of permit without an increase in handling capacity.


Negative Declaration
New York City (Bronx) County - The New York City School Construction Authority, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Intermediate School 141 Addition will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves construction of a new 352-seat addition to the existing I.S. 141 building. The proposed four-story addition would contain a total of approximately 35,500 square feet and would be built largely with the footprint of the school's existing cafeteria wing. The project is located at 660 West 237th Street, Riverdale, Bronx, New York.

New York City (Queens) County - The New York City School Construction Authority, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Intermediate School 77 addition will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a new 660-seat addition to the existing I.S. 77 building. The proposed addition would contain a total of approximately 55,700 square feet within an approximately 10,400 square foot portion of the school's playground. The project is located at 976 Seneca Avenue, Ridgewood, Queens County.

New York City County - The Empire State Development Corporation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Harlem Center will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the mixed-use commercial development totaling approximately 335,000 square feet, including retail and office space and a hotel, conference and banquet facility. The project is located on West 125th Street between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. and Malcolm X Blvd in Manhattan, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS And Public Hearing

New York City (Queens) County - The New York City School Construction Authority, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Glen Oaks School Campus - Queens (P.S./I.S. 208 Q, P.S./I.S. 266 Q and the High School of Teaching Professions. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, November 21, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, November 22, 2000 at 3:30 p.m. at Benjamin Cardozo High School, 5700 223rd Street, Bayside, Queens, New York. The action involves construction funding and construction of two primary/intermediate schools. The project is located at 78-70 Grand Central Parkway North, Queens, New York.
