The Department has made a tentative determination to modify the applicant's existing permit. Modifications to the permit include updating the monitoring requirements, discharge limits and parameters to reflect current regulatory requirements and operating information. In addition the permit is being modified to eliminate the requirement to monitor for nitrofurans since the process that generated them was removed from the site in the late 1970's and Discharge Monitoring Reports reviewed back to 1987 revealed no detectable values. The Department has made a tentative determination to approve an application for mining sand and gravel from within a 29.8 acre life of mine on a 46.68 acre parcel owned by Sarina Baker. The mine would be operated by Northern Aggregates, Inc. and reclaimed to a 16.5 acre pond and 13.3 acre meadow. The site is located between the Oswego County Airport and 32 Silk Road. The application is available for review in the DEC Syracuse office.

     The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has received an application to re-issue the following EPA minor Private/Commercial/Institutional State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (P/C/I SPDES) permit. DEC has made a tentative determination to re-issue this permit for a five-year period, maintaining the current effluent limitations and monitoring and reporting requirements. This permit involves the surface discharge of 8,800 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste to the Fall Creek Trib.

Substantive comments on the permit or requests for hearing or both must be submitted in writing to the contact person.
