Project Description:

The applicant proposes to undertake stream bank stabilization measures and the removal of debris along a tributary of Naraushaun Brook (DEC Index No. NJ-1-4-1; Class C(T)). The project area is located from Douglas Court southeast across Ehrhardt Road then along the south side of Blauvelt Road for a total project length of about 2,000 feet. The project involves the repair of about 75 linear feet of existing gabion baskets, repair of 100 linear feet of existing stone wall, construction of 105 linear feet of new gabion baskets along the stream bank, and the removal of accumulated debris, silt, and tree limbs from the stream bed from Douglas Court to the Naraushaun Brook. Less than 5 cubic yards of silt and sediment is expected to be removed from the stream bed.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination: Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was not performed.
SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination: A Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form has been completed. The proposed activity will not impact on registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.
Coastal Management: This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment: Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Nov 17 2000.
