The project will need to comply with the Department's Stormwater SPDES General Permit for Construction Activity as well. The project will not involve residential development within the steep slope area of this site. Project is located at 1207 Bay Road in the Town of Penfield. |

Project Description: The Nature Conservancy proposes to apply the herbicide Roundup over approximately one acre to control an invasive growth of Phragmites at the Conservancy's property on the Carncross Nature Preserve. The project site is the Carncross Nature Preserve inland salt marsh, south of Carncross Road, east of the County Rt. 274 intersection. Roundup will be applied selectively to Phragmites only, using a low pressure backpack type sprayer. No herbicide applications will be made over open water. Follow-up monitoring by photographs and transect investigations will be done to document results. |
