Notice of Public Review

In accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency Transportation Conformity Requirements, as well as NYSDOT Statewide Procedures for Public Participation in Rural Areas, a review period of 30 days has been established for air quality conformity. Jefferson County is considered a marginal non-attainment area for air quality under the ozone 1-hour standard. Three projects within the county are considered non-exempt for the NYSDOT 12-Year Transportation Improvement Program. They are:

  1. NYS Route 3, Arsenal Street from Floral Drive to Stateway Plaza in the City of Watertown,
  2. NYS Route 342 from I-81 to Route 37, and
  3. NYS Route 342 from Route 37 to Route 11.

This period of review will begin on September 1, 2000 and end on September 30, 2000. Written comments must be received by the end of the review period date of September 30, 2000 to be considered for this conformity determination.
