The applicant proposes to mine 2.16 acres of gravel over a 5 year permit term from a 2.16 acre life of mine site on a 130 acre parcel owned by the applicants at 2000' north of the intersection of State Route 56 and State Route 3 (Sevey's Corners) and further located 150'-200' west of State Route 56. No on-site processing is proposed.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct a gravel access road along the landward toe of a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) authorized dike (Long Sault Dike #1) for maintenance and to protect the integrity of the dike which is one of several dikes constructed as part of the St. Lawrence Power Project to impound the St. Lawrence River. The proposed roadway would be approximately 1770' long x 25' wide (at base). Approximately 1 acre of regulated freshwater wetland MA-1, a 64.4 acre Class II mixed marsh and forested wetland.
