Applicant proposes to install and operate a temporary wellpoint dewatering system as part of a pond dredging / rehabilitation project. Up to 200 wellpoints will be installed around the perimeter of the pond and the lower reach of its inlet stream. The system will have an approximate pumping capacity of 2500 gallons per minute, and is expected to withdraw about 1.4 million gallons per day for approximately 90 days. The system discharge will be to the existing outlet structure of the pond. The site is Baxter Pond Park located on Shore Road in the Village of Baxter Estates.

The applicant proposes to rehabilitate a mobile home park. The project entails the removal of 6 trailer homes and the regrading and seeding of that area for open space preservation. The remaining trailers will be be upgraded with sanitary syastem improvements, water and electric lines. Parking and road areas will be resurfaced. The project is located northwest of Three Mile Harbor Road north of Hides Road, SCTM # 300-120-2-10

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve the application for a new permit to discharge 10,000 gallons per day of (laundromat) process wastewater into groundwater from one outfall. The facility is located at 221 Broadway/Greenlawn Avenue, Huntington, NY, Town of Huntington, Suffolk County (SPDES # NY0227358). The proposed discharge is located within an area designated as a sole source aquifer, the following water purveyors have been identified as having service areas located within a 3 miles radius of the applicant's facility. Suffolk County Water Authority, Greenlawn Water District, South Huntington Water District. A copy of the Draft permit is available for review at the Region I, Stony Brook Office.
