Project Description:
The department has made a preliminary determination to approve modifica- tions to an existing SPDES permit for the blowoff valves of Shafts 24 and 25 of the Croton Aqueduct, discharging into the Harlem River at 180th Street in Manhattan and the Bronx. The modifications consist of the addition of 13 chemicals for monitoring, and outfalls 002 and 003, only one of which may be used for discharge into the Harlem River at any particular time. A copy of the draft modified permit is available for viewing at the Region 2 office in Long Island City.
