New York City (Kings) County - The New York City Department of Sanitation, as lead agency has determined that the proposed delivery of municipal waste from Brooklyn Districts 6, 11, 13 and waste from other City departments, to facilities in Brooklyn and New Jersey will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the New York City Department of Sanitation (DOS) solicitation of bids and awarding of contract(s) to private transfer stations in Brooklyn, New York and Newark and Elizabeth, New Jersey to receive, process, and transport for out-of-City disposal up to 1,600 tons per day (tpd) of municipal solid waste collected in Brooklyn by DOS and other City Departments. The action is awarding contracts, delivering waste loads to the transfer stations, and implementing minor signal timing changes at the intersection of Third Avenue and 39th Street in Brooklyn. The transfer stations are located at 110-120 50th Street in Sunset Park; 577 Court Street in Red Hook; Frelinghuysen Avenue in Newark; and Front Street in Elizabeth. The project is borough-wide.

New York City County - The New York City Department of City Planning, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Unified Bulk Program and Related Zoning Map and Text Amendment. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until August 23, 2000.
