Project Description: The applicant proposes to continue the extraction of sand and gravel and process material by use of a crusher and screen on lands owned by David Everett and John Monigan on the north side of Rod & Gun Club Road, west of Allen Hill Road, in the Town of Peru. The affected acreage, which is also the life of mine acreage, will increase from the present 10 acres to 15.1 acres. Approximately 6.3 acres will be reclaimed during the requested 5-year permit renewal term. Reclamation will consist of grading disturbed areas to stable slopes, liming and fertilizing, followed by seeding and mulching to establish a vegetative cover. The Adirondack Park Agency has also reviewed this proposal and has recently issued a permit for continued mining at this site and the additional acreage to be mined (APA Permit # 2000-90).
