The applicant proposes to place up to 195 cubic yards of angular rock rip-rap, greater than 12 inches in diameter, along approximately 185 lineal feet of his shoreline located at 221-223 Lake Street in the Village of Rouses Point in order to curtail further shoreline erosion. The applicant proposes to continue the extraction of sand and gravel and process material by use of a crusher and screen on lands owned by David Everett and John Monigan on the north side of Rod & Gun Club Road, west of Allen Hill Road, in the Town of Peru. The affected acreage, which is also the life of mine acreage, will increase from the present 10 acres to 15.1 acres. Approximately 6.3 acres will be reclaimed during the requested 5-year permit renewal term. Reclamation will consist of grading disturbed areas to stable slopes, liming and fertilizing, followed by seeding and mulching to establish a vegetative cover. The Adirondack Park Agency has also reviewed this proposal and has recently issued a permit for continued mining at this site and the additional acreage to be mined (APA Permit # 2000-90). The Department has received a complete application and has drafted a modified permit for the applicant's existing wastewater discharge to a tributary of Bell Brook on the east side of Rte 9N. The draft permit increases the limit for daily flow to accomodate the connection of existing on lot septic systems that may be failing and to provide capacity for future expansion.

This action is a 150 ft by 30 foot fill in wetland Q-18 (Class II) to create a driveway for access to property. There will be a 15 inch culvert installed to allow

for surface water exchange in the wetland.

Operation of a new 4.8 acre unconsolidated (sand and gravel) mine at a site located immediately west of Smith Road and approximately 1 mile north of County Route 30. On-site processing of sand and gravel will occur at the site.
