Project Description:
 The applicant proposes to construct an operate a 400 ton per day paper mill residuals composting facility on a 76 acre parcel of land in the town of Minden, Montgomery County. The facility will accept paper mill sludge and mix it with dairy farm manure on a 10.9 acre open-air pad. The mixture will be allowed to compost over a period of several weeks. Finished compost will be sold in bulk quantities. Leachate from rainwater contacting the active composting pad and the compost storage area will be collected and treated via a combination pond and extended detention wetland to be constructed down gradient of the pads. The leachate collection and treatment system is designed to accommodate a 1-inch rainstorm. A 3,200 square foot metal building will be constructed on the site for office space and equipment maintenance. A bagging facility may be constructed in the future for placing the product into individual bags for sale. The facility will be located on the south side of NYS Route 5s, approximately 1 mile west of the intersection of 5s and County Route 66 (Sanders Road) and 5 miles west of the Village of Fort Plain.

Project Description:
 On June 15, 2000 the Department of Environmental Conservation granted the NYS Canal Corporation emergency authorization to construct a temporary, rock-filled cellular cofferdam approximately 300 feet long, in the Mohawk River in order to conduct repair work of moveable dam #8. The work is necessary to repair damage to the structure caused by extreme flooding of the river on June 7. Emergency authorization for this project will expire in approximately 30 days. The Canal Corp. estimates that it will take until the end of this year to complete the repair work and to remove the temporary cofferdam. The Canal Corp. is applying for this permit to allow the cofferdam to remain in place until December 31, 2000. Dam #8 is located at Lock #12 between the villages of Fort Hunter and Tribes Hill.

 The Golub Corporation, operators of the Price Chopper chain of supermarkets, proposes to expand their existing warehouse space at their Rotterdam Distribution Center in order to meet their current needs and for future growth. The proposed expansion involves constructing 195,000 square feet of new grocery warehouse space and approximately 407,000 square feet of new pavement for truck trailer and vehicle parking areas. Approximately 6 acres of federal wetlands would be filled to accomplish the project. On-site mitigation would create approximately 10 acres of forested wetland. The project is located on the south side of Duanesburg Road, just west of the Rotterdam Industrial Park.
