| Project Description: The Town of Chazy proposes to develop a complete wastewater treatment and collection system. The project includes construction of a treatment plant to the north of Sacred Heart Cemetery (off North Farm Rd.), with average discharge of 85,000 gallons per day sanitary wastewater to the Little Chazy River (class C), and installation of sewer mains and customer connections throughout the Hamlet of Chazy. The Department has made a tentative determination to approve the SPDES application; a draft permit is available for review. Protection of Waters permit is requested for the treatment plant outfall structure and two sewer main crossings of Little Chazy River. | ||

Project Description: Village of Keeseville requests the following permits associated with improvements to the Village drinking water system: Water Supply - take an increased supply of up to 1.0 million gallons per day from Butternut Pond for use in the existing system; construction of a new water filtration plant and 308,000 gallon storage tank (both located approximately 2000 feet north of Butternut Pond), and replacement of 7.5 miles of transmission and distribution mains; Industrial SPDES - The Department has made a tentative determination to approve a new permit for a proposed average discharge of 25,000 gallons per day backwash from the water filtration plant to Mud Brook (class C); a draft permit is available for review; Protection of Waters - to extend the water intake structure in Butternut Pond (class AA), and a water line crossing of Mud Brook. The project extends from the Village of Keeseville to the south along U.S. Route 9 to Butternut Pond, Town of Chesterfield.
