Project Description:
 The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a variance from Solid Waste Regulation 6 NYCRR 360.3.4 (b)(2) to allow an increase in the amount of waste stored on site for processing from 3,150 tons to 4,000 tons at any time. The requested variance would allow periodic plant maintenance and repair to be performed without diverting the incoming waste stream to a landfill. The project involves no new construction and no waste will be stored outside the existing facility. The project is located on Sand Dock Road, one mile west of South Road (US Route 9) in the Town of Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County.

Project Description:
 The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application for a SPDES permit to discharge a maximum volume of 440 gallons per day (GPD) of treated sanitary wastewater from an existing single-family residence into a ditch that empties into DEC designated Freshwater Wetland No. WU-1 (Class III). The residence is located on the west side of Dogwood Dr. about 900 feet south of the intersection with Bible Camp Road. The proposed treatment system consists of an aerobic treatment tank and a sand filter. The sand filter and discharge pipe will be located within the 100-foot adjacent area of DEC Freshwater Wetland No. WU-1. The septic system is being installed to replace the existing failed subsurface septic system on the property. The permittee will be required to maintain records and report data to verify compliance with the SPDES permit conditions and discharge limits. A draft SPDES permit is available for review at the NYSDEC Region 3 office.

Project Description:
 The NYS DEC has made a tentative determination to approve an application for a permit to authorize the discharge of backwash water from the Village of Nyack Water Filtration Plant into the Hackensack River. The discharge of the backwash water, which is currently recycled will improve the plant efficiency and performance. Approximately 78,000 gallons per day will be discharged from the plant to a treatment lagoon and then into the Hackensack River. A draft permit has been prepared and is available for review.

Project Description:
 The applicant proposes to install a maximum of 165 linear feet of rip- rap along the northeastern embankment of Birch Creek Class B(ts) to stabilize the bank and correct existing erosion. The project is located on the west side of NYS Route 28 adjacent to the Pine Hill Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), 500 feet north of Remmick Road in the Town of Shandaken, Ulster County.
