Project Description:
AMENDED NOTICE: At a proposed solid waste transfer station which would be located at 127-20 34th Avenue, the applicant proposes to capture, treat and discharge stormwater runoff and leachate from a construction and demolition (C&D) debris yard. Treatment would consist of sediment interceptors and oil/water separators which would remove solids, oil, and grease. The treated leachate and stormwater would then be discharged to a New York City Department of Sanitation Storm Sewer.

Project Description:
In Queens County, at 38-50 Review Avenue, Long Island City, 11101, the Applicant proposes to reconstruct a currently permitted transfer station and recyclables handling and recovery facility with certain modifications to its operation and physical structure. Modifications sought by the Applicant include (1) eliminating all on-street queuing and parking; (2) installing roofs and doors and lengthening facility truck bays so trucks can load and unload in completely enclosed areas; and (3) installing odor control ventilation, leachate, and stormwater management systems. The currently permitted throughput capacity and waste streams of the facility would remain unchanged.
