Project Description:
 The applicant proposes to reconstruct 70 feet of bulkhead in-kind/in-place, construct a 10 foot return, dredge an 80 foot by 10 foot area adjacent to the bulkhead and construct 10 feet of new bulkhead to close off an existing boat slip. Fifty cubic yards of fill will be placed within the boat slip, resulting in the loss of approximately 240 square feet of tidal wetlands known as littoral zone (SM/LZ). The applicant also proposes to install a 4 foot wide boardwalk and replace an existing shed. The project is located at 725 Farmers Avenue, Bellmore, Town of Hempstead, Nassau County, NCTM# Section 63, Block 266, lot 126.

Project Description:
 The applicant proposes to install 5.3 miles of submarine comunications cable across the Great South Bay. The proposed cable is a 2" diameter, fiber optic cable to be placed as one continuous piece at a minimum depth of 4' below the bay bottom. The cable is proposed to be installed with a jet plow sled, which installs and buries the cable in one pass. The entry of the cable into the Great South Bay is the south end of Cottage Ave, Bay Shore and the exit point is an easement over public property in Saltaire, west of Clam Pond. The approximate route of the cable is along the direction of the West Channel that runs from Bay Shore to Fire Island. The location of the project is as noted above in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County.
