Project Location: OU-1 is located in the northwestern portion of the Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Borough and County of the Bronx. OU-1 is rectangular in shape and covers approximately 7 acres. It is bounded on the north by Viele Avenue, on the south by Food Center Drive, on the west by Halleck Street, and on the east by buildings in the Hunts Point Cooperative Market.
Project Description: The Response Plan and proposed redevelopment of the site includes general grading of the site and importation of fill material to bring the site up to final grade. Following completion of grading, the property is proposed to be covered with asphalt and used as a parking area for a new building on the site adjacent to the east. Several areas within the parking lot area will be used for grassy medians and dividers.
Comment Period: The Voluntary Cleanup Agreement and Response Plan are available for review at the locations identified below. A 30-day public comment period on the Response Plan will begin on July 12, 2000 and end on August 11, 2000. Written comments expressing objection or opposition to the Response Plan must explain the basis of that opposition and identify specific grounds that could justify the Department's imposing significant changes to the Response Plan. No formal response is made to comments received, but, as a result of comments, the Department may re-evaluate and revise the Response Plan.

New York County - The City Planning Commission of the City of New York, as lead agency has determined that the proposed 169 Hudson Street, CEQR # 00DCP024M, ULURP # N000168ZAM will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the application by Hudson Street LLC for an authorization from the City Planning Commission pursuant to ZR Section 111-23 to modify the use regulations of ZR Section 111-101 relating to the prohibition of loft dwellings or joint living quarters below the level of the third story of a building located in Areas B1 and B2 in the Special Tribeca Mixed Use (TMU) district; and to modify the use regulations of Section 111-103 (b) relating to Areas B1 and B2 where building lot coverage is 5,000 sq. ft. or more. |Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing|
New York County - The City Planning Commission, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Museum of Modern Art Expansion. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on a date to be announced. Written comments on the Draft Environmental Statement are requested and will be received by the Lead Agency until the 10th calendar day following the close of the public hearing. The action involves rezoning of a portion of the midblock on the north side of West 53rd Street, special permit pursuant to the modified ZR Section 81-066 to allow the transfer of bulk across district boundaries and modification of rear yard requirements in the Special Midtown District and Authorization pursuant to ZR Section 81-90 to modify streetwall requirements.
