Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The Orient Mosquito District, as lead agency, has determined that the application of selected pesticides in specified freshwater and tidal wetland areas will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The pesticides proposed for use are:
VectoBac 12AS (EPA # 215-102) - active ingredient Bacillus thuringiensis;
Bactimos Granules (EPA # 275-128) - active ingredient Bacillus thuringiensis;
Bactimos Pellets (EPA # 275-127) - active ingredient Bacillus thuringiensis; or
Altosid Liquid lLarvicide (AEP # 2723-392-64833) - active ingredient methoprene.

Suffolk County - The Town of Huntington, as lead agency has determined that the proposed Super Millwork will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves construction of a 43,560 square foot industrial building containing 12,600 square feet of office space and 30,960 square feet of warehouse space with required off-street parking. The project is located on the north side of Spagnoli Road, 1793 feet west of Carlin Court in Melville, within the Town of Huntington.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Nassau County - The Village of Old Westbury Board of Zoning Appeals, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Solomon Schechter Day School of Nassau County. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at Old Westbury Village Hall, One Store Hill Road, Old Westbury, New York 11568. Written comments on the Draft EIS ends not less than 10 days after the close of the public hearing. The action involves of the development of a 1,200 student private school known as the Solomon Schechter Day School, serving grades pre-K through 12. The project is located north of the intersection of North Store Hill Road (the Long Island North Service road) and Powell's Lane, in the Village of Old Westbury.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Revised Public Hearing

Nassau County - The Board of Trustees, Village of Great Neck Estates, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Application for a Special Use Permit for Hebrew Academy Elementary and Nursery School. A revised public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on July 10, 2000 at 8:00 p.m. at the Village of Great Neck Estates Village Hall, 4 Atwater Plaza, Great Neck Estates, New York 11021. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted by the contact person listed below until ten days after the close of the public hearing. The action involves the application for a special use permit to utilize an existing commercial building as an elementary and nursery school to be known as The Silverstein Hebrew Academy and Cohen School. The applicant has indicated that such use will be temporary (i.e., duration of three to five years) and that the maximum capacity will be 72 students between two (2) and five (5) years of age. Various alterations are proposed to accommodate the proposed use. The project is located 117 Cuttermill Road, Great Neck Estates, New York 11021.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Extension of Public Comment Period

Suffolk County - The Town Board of the Town of Babylon, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed implementation of court order relating to parking lot expansion and property transfer Oak Beach Inn. The comment period of the Draft EIS has been extended to June 30, 2000. Comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted by the contact person. The action involves construction of a 508 space parking lot addition to Oak Beach parking lot, complete with stormwater drainage structures and landscaping. The project is located on the southside of Ocean Parkway, 6,200' west of the Robert Moses Causeway, Oak Beach, New York.
