Project Description:
The applicant is requesting a modification to a permit for herbicide vegetation management in NYPA powerline right-of-ways, in St. Lawrence, Lewis, Oneida, Herkimer, Franklin, and Clinton counties. The modification would add an additional herbicide "Arsenal" to the "Accord" only mix currently approved. This will facilitate a broader spectrum of control of target species, while reducing total amounts of herbicides used. In addition, the permit would be modified to delete the use of the high volume foliar "Stem Selective Foliar" technique. It has been determined that this technique may be deleterious to low growing desireable plant species in wetlands and will, therefore, be eliminated.
