Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed construction of a new field house and site development for the Miller Place Union Free School District, SED Project No. 58-02-08-02-7-018-001, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves 5,000 square feet of new construction and the development of 10 acres into athletic fields. The project is located on Highway 25A in the Town of Miller Place.

Suffolk County - The Town of Huntington Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Super Millwork, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves construction of a 43,560 square foot industrial building containing 12,600 square feet of office space and 30,960 square feet of warehouse space with required off-street parking (to include 28 land banked parking stalls), loading and landscaped buffers located on a 3.00 acre (130,709 square foot) parcel within an I-2 Light Industry zone district. The subject parcel is within a Town Designated Open Space Index Parcel identified as OSI # SW-20. The project is located on the north side Spagnoli Road, 1,793 feet west of Carlin Court in Melville, within the Town of Huntington.

Suffolk County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed construction of a New Elementary School for the East Moriches Union Free School District, SED Project No. 58-02-34-02-0-009-001, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves 83,500 square feet of new construction. The project is located on Montauk Highway (S.R. 27A), in the Town of Brookhaven.

Suffolk County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed additions and alterations to the Center Moriches High School in the Center Moriches Union Free School District, SED Project No. 58-02-33-02-0-006-006, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves 65,834 square feet of new additions on existing property. The project is located at 311 Frowein Road in Center Moriches, New York.

Suffolk County - The New York State Department of Transportation, as lead agency has determined that the proposed NY 114 Traffic Calming, PIN 0008.20, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves providing vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist safety using traffic calming techniques such as medians/safety islands, curb extensions, pavement texture variations, crosswalks, roundabouts, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, pedestrian level lighting, gateways and landscaping. The project is located 4.63 miles from Lincoln Street in Sag Harbor to North Drive in North Haven.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Suffolk County - The Planning Board, Town of Babylon, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Job #00-20AF, Daniel Land Co., LLC (B.J.'s Wholesale). Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted by the contact person until June 21, 2000. The action involves a subdivision of an 18.5 acre parcel. A 132,000 sq.ft. structure on 8.4 acres was outparcelled; the remaining 10.1 acre recharge basin would be developed as 2.6 acre and 4.4 acre industrial parcels and the remaining 3.1 acres for a recharge basin. The current proposal involves the filling and development of the 10.1 acre recharge basin for a 108,532 sq.ft. Retail structure (B.J.'s Wholesale Club) and 6,120 sq.ft. Gasoline station. A leaching system will replace the recharge basin stormwater handling of Daniel Street. This proposal is substantially different from the project originally approved. The project is located the south side of Daniel Street, 1,155' west of Broadhollow Road (Route 110), Hamlet of East Farmingdale, Town of Babylon, New York. SCTM # Dist. 0100-Sect.32- Block 01- Lot(s) 15.3, 15.4 & 15.5.

Suffolk County - The Planning Board Town of Babylon, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed implementation of court order relating to parking lot expansion and property transfer Oak Beach Inn. Written comments on the Draft EIS have been extended to June 30, 2000 and will be accepted by the contact person. Pursuant to a stipulation of settlement, the Town proposes to construct a 508 space parking lot addition to Oak Beach parking lot, complete with stormwater drainage structures and landscaping. The project will also include the re-opening of the east and west Ocean Parkway access ramps. The project location is south side of Ocean Parkway, 6,200' west of the Robert Moses Causeway, Oak Beach, New York.
