Suffolk County - The State Education Department, as lead agency has determined that the proposed addition and alterations to the High School in the Miller Place Union Free School District, SED Project No. 58-02-08-02-0-006-011, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves 57,000 square feet of new additions on existing property. The project is located at 15 Memorial Drive in the Town of Brookhaven, New York.

Suffolk County - The Town of Riverhead Planning Board, as lead agency has determined that the proposed NF Golf Resorts and Aquebogue Golf Resorts, may have a significant effect on the environment and Draft Environmental Impact Statements must be prepared. Project location for NF Golf Resorts is west of Doctors Path, north and South of reeves Avenue, Riverhead, New York. Project location for Aquebogue Golf Resorts is southeast and sourthwest corners of the intersection of Northville turnpike (CR 43) and Cross River Drive (CR 105), also lying between Cross River Drive, Northville Turnpike and Sound Avenue, also south of Sound Avenue east of Long Island National Golf Course and lastly at the south end of the golf course.

The action involves construction of 115,000 square foot lumberyard (home improvement superstore), a 6,500 square foot two hundred twenty-five (225) seat restaurant and 6,000 square foot and 30,000 square foot structures together with related site improvements on a 21.2 acre site zoned Industrial A. The project is located on the Northside Old Country Road, at and just west of the northerly terminus of Kroemer Avenue, Riverhead, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Nassau County - The State Education Department, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed New Rhodes Elementary School, SED Project No. 28-02-01-03-0-065-001. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until June 6, 2000. The action involves the removal of the existing 27,500 square foot Marguerite Golden Rhodes Elementary School and the construction of a 120,000 gross square foot New Rhodes Elementary School Facility. The project is located at 270 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York.

Nassau County - The State Education Department, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed New Prospect Elementary School, SED Project No. 28-02-01-03-0-066-001. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until June 6, 2000. The action involves the removal of the existing 46,000 square foot Prospect Elementary School Facility and the construction of a 120,000 gross square foot New Prospect Elementary School Facility. The project is located at 265 Peninsula Boulevard, Hempstead, New York.

Suffolk County - The Town of Babylon Planning Board, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Daniel Land Co., LLC / B.J.'s Wholesale. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted by the contact person until June 21, 2000. The action involves the filling and development of 10.1 acre recharge basin for a 108,532 sq.ft. retail structure (B.J.'s Wholesale Club) and 6,120 sq.ft. gasoline station. A leaching system will replace the recharge basin stormwater handling of Daniel Street. The project is located on the south side of Daniel Street, 1,155' west of Broadhollow Road (Route 110), Hamlet of East Farmingdale, Town of Babylon.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS with Public Hearing

Nassau County - The Board of Trustees, Village of Great Neck Estates, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Share Corp. Application for a Special Use Permit, Hebrew Academy Elementary and Nursery School. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on July 12, 2000 at 8:00 p.m. at the Village of Great Neck Estates Village Hall, 4 Atwater Plaza, Great Neck Estates, New York 11021. Written comments on the DEIS will be accepted by the contact person until ten days after the close of the public hearing. The action involves the application for a special use permit to utilize an existing commercial building as an elementary and nursery school to be known as The Silverstein Hebrew Academy and Cohen School. The project is located at 117 Cuttermill Road, Great Neck Estates, New York 11021.
