Allegany County - The State Education Department, as lead agency has determined that the proposed additions and alterations to the Main Building in the Friendship Central School District, SED Project No. 02-16-01-04--0-001-012, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves 11,000 square feet of new additions on existing property. The project is located at 46 West Street in the Town of Friendship.

Cattaraugus County - The State Education Department, as lead agency has determined that the Haldane High School Project Number 48-04-01-04-0-008-001, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves new construction. The project is located at 15 Craigside Drive, Cold Spring, New York 10516.

Negative Declaration after Draft Environmental Impact Statement

Allegany County - The State Education Department, as lead agency has determined based upon a Draft Environmental Impact Statement that the proposed land acquisition and construction of a new Transportation Facility in the Friendship Central School District, SED Project No. 02-16-01-04--5-005-001, will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the purchase of 2 acres of land and 4,000 square feet of new construction. The project is located on East Water Street in the Town of Friendship.

Positive Declaration

Erie County - The Erie County Department of Public Works, as lead agency has determined that the proposed new Buffalo Convention Center may have a significant environmental impact and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the construction of a new 400,000 gross square foot convention center (with a 125,000 square foot main exhibit hall) on an 11-acre site in downtown Buffalo, New York. The site is generally bounded by Main Street on the west, Huron Street on the north, elm Street on the east, and Broadway on the south. Included in the action is the construction of a minimum 1250 space parking facility within the boundaries of the site. Project number LC617-00-193.

Positive Declaration with Public Scoping

Erie County - The Town of Amherst Planning Board, as lead agency has determined that the proposed Gramercy Park subdivision may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. Public scoping sessions will be held on May 23, 2000, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., at Amherst Engineering Department, 1100 North Forest Road, Williamsville, NY 14221; and May 23, 2000, at 7:30 p.m. at East Amherst Fire Department, 9100 Transit Road, East Amherst, New York. The action involves the proposed construction of 61 sub-lot subdivision and associated infrastructure on 61.07 acres of land. Entrance to the site is from existing sub-streets Twilight and Bramblewood Lanes. The site is currently undeveloped with a portion of a NYSDEC regulated wetland CC-8 on its west and Gott Creek as its easterly boundary. The project is located at 9434 Transit Road, Amherst, NY.

Positive Declaration and Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS

Chautauqua County - The State Education Department, as lead agency has determined that the proposed New Bus Garage (06-24-01-04-5-009-001) main building additions and adjacent parcel acquisition (06-24-01-04-0-001-008) may have a significant adverse impact on the environmental and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement has been prepared. The action involves a proposed new bus garage site (4.0 acres, off Ross Street, and acquisition of an adjacent parcel (0.34 acres, off North State Street. The project is located in the township of Ripley, Chautauqua County, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Chautauqua County - On May 2, 2000 the State Education Department, as lead agency accepted the Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Jefferson Middle School Improvement Project for the Jamestown City School District. The Project is located on Martin Road, along the border of the City of Jamestown and the Town of Kiantone in the County of Chautauqua, State of New York; Control Numbers: 06-17-00-01-2-020-001, 06-17-00-01-7-022-001, 06-17-00-01-7-023-001, and 06-17-00-01-0-015-007. There are two principal components to this action: renovations, upgrades and improvements to the existing Jefferson Middle School; and renovations and construction of athletic facilities. Comments on the Final EIS and will be accepted by the contact person until May 11, 2000.

Erie County - The State Education Department, as lead agency, has accepted a Final EIS on the proposed land acquisition and new construction of a Transportation Facility for the Orchard Park Central School District, SED Project No. 14-23-01-06-5-010-001. The action involves the purchase of 135 acres of land and 22,000 square feet of new construction. The project is located on Murphy Road in the Town of Orchard Park. Comments on the Final EIS will be accepted by the contact person until May 11, 2000.
