Project Description:
 THE STEUBEN COUNTY SWCD PROPOSES APPROXIMATELY 2,000 L.F. OF DEBRIS REMOVAL FROM FIVE MILE CREEK, SOUTH OF WALDO ROAD WITHIN NYS REGULATED WETLAND RH-1. THE PROJECT IS INTENDED TO ALLEVIATE POTENTIAL FLOODING IN AREAS ADJOINING THIS REACH, AND TO MITIGATE STREAMBANK EROSION RESULTING FROM THE DEBRIS BLOCKED HIGH FLOW CHANNEL. THE WORK WILL BE DONE PRIMARILY BY A MECHANICAL TRACK MOUNTED EXCAVATOR. DISTURBED AREAS WILL BE RE-SEEDED AND WILLOW PLANTINGS WILL BE DONE ON ERODING STREAMBANKS.
